MS in US: Scholarships for Indian Students

Choosing master's studies in the United States is a huge decision of anyone's life and the biggest factor that manipulates student's mindset to it, is the large opportunity pool in the States but the main deterrent is the budget for 2 years of studies. You may or may not get the scholarship from the university at the time of your admit. You still are eligible for a lot of scholarships in India itself. There are trusts who are ready to fund abroad studies of excellent students. Here is a list of scholarships available for all the Indian students:

Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship

This is a scholarship awarded by Narotam Sekhsaria foundation for the postgraduate programs. The application process includes one online/offline application form and one face to face interview after successful selection. The amount for the scholarship can be up to 20 lakh on the basis of the Foundation's assessment of prospective candidates. Generally, the application form for this scholarship is available from the first month of January for every season and the deadline to submit the completed form is around the last week of March of every season. You need to submit a non-refundable fee of 500 rupees to get the application form. Once you will submit the application fee successfully then login credentials will be mailed to your registered email ID.

Aga Khan Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by Aga Khan Foundation. The scholarship amount is considered as 50% grant and 50% loan. You have to reimburse the 50% loan with an annual service charge of 5% starting 6 months after your master's program. You can get the application form on your email by sending a message to the official email of Aga Khan Foundation which you can get on the below-mentioned website. You'll get an editable PDF which you have to fill and mail to the nearest Aga Khan Foundation office. The form distribution starts in the first week of January and the deadline to submit the completed application is 20th March. You'll get a notification from the foundation for the annual selection meeting in late June or early July.

K.C. Mahindra Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by K.C. Mahindra education trust. The online application form starts in the last week of January and the deadline to submit the completed application is 31st March for this scholarship. 3 top students will get the 8 lakh scholarship amount and 4 lakh will be awarded to each selected applicant.

J.N. Tata Endowment

This scholarship is awarded by J.N. Tata Endowment for higher education. This is a complete loan scholarship and the scholarship amount ranges between 1 lakh to 10 lakh. You can get anything between this range. All applicants might not reach the highest. You have to repay the whole amount at a simple interest of 2% per annum. Moreover, Trustees can waive off your interest if you pay the loan in the specified time range. I.e, 3rd to 7th year. You can get the online application form on their website mentioned below for free.The form available from the December/January every year and deadline to submit the completed application form is around mid of march for every season.
