A perfect weekend trip from Gurgaon to Lansdowne
3 friends, 2 days and 1 car. This is all you need to escape from the heat of Delhi NCR. Most of the people do not know about places those are very near to us and is amazingly beautiful. I've visited one of them this weekend. LANSDOWNE
Our trip was supposed to be 3 days long but i'll tell you my reason to curtail that span. We started from Gurgaon at 11:00pm in an Alto K10 and trust me, this car performed exceptionally well in the hills. All the Delhi NCR people can follow this route. The road connectivity is amazing from Gurgaon to Lansdowne and we took the following route.
Gurgaon -> Ghaziabad -> Muradnagar -> Meerut Bypass Rd. -> Khatauli -> Bijnor -> Najibabad -> Kotdawara -> Lansdowne
We've reached at Kotdwara at 5:30 in the morning with one half an hour break near Bijnor. In that break at Bijnor, we've realized that we don't have any place to stay so we booked one OYO on the go for 750rs. Per night for 3 adults. This is seriously a great deal. The hotel we booked was SPOT ON 41585 Green Pine. This hotel is 5km far from the main lansdowne but it'll not be a problem if you have your own car.
The best thing about the entire journey start from Kotdwara, Curves. and you really do not want to drive fast here. This is entirely scenic beauty, drive slow drive safe. We've stopped our car a few times before reaching to hotel in greediness of some instagram photos. By the grace of god, I've a Nikon D3400 DSLR but the splendid view can get you amazing pics with even Nokia 3310.
We've reached hotel at 8:00am and got to know that the check-in time is 12:00pm. Again we have a reason to be sad but the temperature change from 47 degree Celsius to 15 degree was not allowing us to ruin our moods. We waited for 3 hours and luckily got into our room at 11:00am.
Left the hotel at 3:00pm after a 3 hour sleep and surprisingly watched everything in Lansdowne by 8:00pm. We've covered
- Tip in Top Point (The view from here is breathtaking)
- Bheem pakora
- St. john's church (This was closed but you can have pictures here)
- St. Mary's church (This one was closed too, opens only on saturdays and sundays)
- Sunset Point (This is just a stone)
- Mata santoshi Mandir (You can sit here for a while and relax)
- Lansdowne Market (This is smaller than the any Gurgaon sector market)
- Mainwaring garden (Another garden on the roadside with some rabbits and army fighter plane model)
- A shiv mandir near the market
Went back to the hotel by 9:00pm and got back to Gurgaon next day after at 11:00am after having a good sleep.
Total expenses are 5700 rupees including petrol and everything for 3 people. What do you want more? Overall Lansdowne is an amazing place for a weekend. Don't go there if you're in search of some stuff. You'll get only trees, clouds and mountains.
